Stephen Rogers has been a Learning Behavior Specialist for 13 years and is transitioning to Dean of Students at Leman Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year. Stephen Rogers graduated from Concordia University Chicago in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in special education teaching. He obtained his master’s degree in educational leadership in 2021 from Concordia University Chicago. Mr. Rogers has taught for 7 years in Chicago, Illinois, and 6 years in Winfield, Illinois, where he specialized in co-teaching at the 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade levels, primarily in mathematics and language arts. He also aided students with social-emotional development and management of independent and executive functioning skills. Mr. Rogers finds it important to understand all aspects of a child to understand better how and why a child learns and acts in a specific way. Mr. Rogers believes that all students can learn and grow in an academic and societal setting given the proper support and guidance from teachers, staff, and family members. By incorporating positive supports and collaborative relationships with teachers, families, and students, we can prepare students to be positive and supportive members of a dynamically changing and growing society.
