We are excited to share that the Board has approved Mr. Matthew Mordini of Education as the new assistant Principal at Leman Middle School. Mr. Mordini will replace the vacancy left by Ms. Amie Correa, who is now principal at Gary School.
Mr. Mordini is a graduate of Augustana College. He began his career in education working in the Clark County School District in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2013, Mr. Mordini started his career as a middle school English teacher. During his time in the classroom, he taught 6th and 7th grade Language Arts, Writing, Leadership Development, and AVID. In 2015 he completed his Master's in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and in 2019, he was awarded his Master's in School Administration. In 2019, he transitioned into the role of the instructional coach, where he worked closely with teachers, administrators, and students to promote academic and social-emotional achievement. Over the past year, he has had the pleasure of serving as the 7th grade Dean of Students at Leman Middle School, which allowed him to build strong connections with the Leman students, teachers, & West Chicago community. He is passionate about utilizing the power of positive relationships & restorative practices to foster productive, safe, & positive environments for teaching and learning. Matt enjoys traveling, baking, and spending time with his family in his free time. He is excited & grateful to have the opportunity to continue his career in District 33 as an assistant principal.
