On Thursday, June 16, 2022, during the regularly scheduled board meeting, West Chicago Elementary School District 33’s Board of Education announced that it had selected Ms. Xenia Delgado as the new Assistant principal of Currier School beginning in August 2022.
Xenia Delgado obtained her Bachelor of Arts in ESL Education at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. In addition, she holds a second degree in Biology, a Masters’s Certificate in Risk Management for Healthcare, and a Masters’s degree in Educational Leadership from Roosevelt University of Illinois.
Ms. Delgado currently serves as the ESL Instructional Coach at Turner Elementary School. She has previously served as an elementary, middle, and high school ESL teacher in North Carolina, Puerto Rico, and Illinois. As an Instructional ESL Coach, she provided ongoing ESL support to teachers and students by implementing standards-based methodologies with fidelity.
Ms. Delgado worked closely with district-level and school-level leadership by preparing and presenting assessment data results. She supported elementary schools, implementing strategies for improving achievement using formative and summative assessment data. She is passionate about serving the school community, helping close the achievement gap, providing social-emotional support to students, and building a positive school environment for all students and staff to thrive.
