Congratulations to Mrs. Kerry Duffey, the Nora Project “Teacher of the Year”.

For the past four years, Mr. Kerry Duffey has led the implementation of The Nora Project at Indian Knoll School. The Nora Project trains and coaches educators and offers a suite of SEL programs that dive deeply into the concepts of empathy and inclusion, explicitly addressing disability and difference as a part of human diversity.

The program connects what students are learning to the real world, offering them opportunities to practice what they learn during instruction. Teachers participate in rigorous training before implementing it in the classroom. The Nora Project is taught in over 60 schools and 239 classrooms across the country.

Kerry Duffey was recognized as a “Changemaker” who served as a mentor and role model for other program participants and engaged substantially in their learning. Additionally, on August 29, at their “Embracing Change” Gala event, Kerry Duffey was an honoree recognized for “Teacher of the Year”.
