ILMEA Honor Band
We’re thrilled to announce that four Leman Middle School students have been selected to participate in the prestigious ILMEA District 9 Honor Band! This is the largest group ever chosen from Leman for Band, and they will represent both Leman and District 33 at the upcoming concert on November 16th at Streamwood High School.
The journey to this achievement was no small feat. These talented students worked tirelessly, preparing for a highly competitive audition that went beyond their regular class music. Their selection is an extraordinary accomplishment, comparable to reaching “state” in athletics—but in the world of music. Competing against students from some of the state’s top music programs, including Naperville, Wheaton, Batavia, Geneva, and St. Charles, our students demonstrated outstanding dedication and skill.
Congratulations to our Leman Honor Band students:
- Beruk Abrar – Tenor Saxophone (8th grade)
- Joshua Canizal – Trumpet (8th grade)
- Samantha Munoz – Bass Clarinet (7th grade)
- Livia Williamson – Flute (7th grade)
We are incredibly proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see them perform. Let’s cheer them on as they represent Leman Middle School and District 33 at this remarkable event!
