Superintendent Search - Parent/Community Focus Groups

September 6, 2019

The District 33 Board of Education launched a superintendency search and is planning to appoint the next District 33 superintendent this late fall.  Your input is requested as the District 33 Board prepares to consider candidates for the superintendency of our district.

Community focus group meetings will occur on September 17, 2019 at 4:45 p.m. at Leman Middle School and at 6:30 p.m. at Turner Elementary and Leman Middle School. An online survey will be available at  from September 17 – 27, 2019.  Through these focus groups and online survey, community members have the opportunity to give input towards the strengths and opportunities of our district as well as their ideas on the qualities needed in our next leader.  After the focus group meetings and online survey are completed, a profile will be created and presented by our search firm, BWP and Associates, at the October 3, 2019 Board meeting in open session.  We encourage all community members to attend a focus group meeting on September 17,2019 or complete the online survey by September 27, 2019.

We are excited at the opportunities we have this year as a district.  We have worked hard as a community to be fiscally responsible in difficult economic times.  We look forward to the opportunity this will give our community to give input into the characteristics needed for the next district leader. We believe the community is eager to participate in this superintendency search process with us.  We will include updates on this process throughout this coming school year at board meetings to allow the community to stay informed.

Thank you in advance for your input towards this very important decision for our community.

Dr. Brenda Vishanoff

District 33 School Board President
