Mrs. Margarita Vazquez has been with district 33 since 2000. She started her career at District 33 as a special education teacher at Pioneer School. Her background includes collaborating with teachers to support students with special needs including two years of self- contained classroom experience with students with significant needs. After 14 years of supporting students in special education, she became an English as a Second Language Teacher and Instructional coach for 3 years. Most recently, she has was the Literacy Lead Teacher. Mrs. Vazquez holds a Bachelor's degree in Special Education and a Master's Degree in Reading Specialist from Benedictine University. Most recently, she has obtained a Master’s Degree in Administration from Aurora University. She has worked with several teams of teachers to improve student engagement in reading across the district. Her passion is working collaboratively with teachers while providing professional development to ensure equitable access to education for all students.
