West Chicago Elementary School District 33’s Board of Education announced tonight at the regularly scheduled board meeting that it has selected Mr. Maurice McDavid as the next principal of Turner Elementary School. He will be replacing Mr. John Rodriguez, who will be retiring at the end of June 2020.
McDavid earned his bachelor's from Knox College, majoring in elementary education with minors in history and Spanish. Throughout his teaching career, McDavid taught eighth grade social studies, and middle school Spanish. While finishing a master’s degree in Educational Administration at Northern Illinois University, he worked as a dean at DeKalb High School. Most recently, he was an assistant principal at a bilingual elementary school.
He and his wife of 12 years have three beautiful children and are
active in their local church.
