Presenting Ms. Jamee Kenney, New Asst. Principal
Jamee has been involved in education for fifteen years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre from Millikin University, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Indiana University. Ms. Kenney later pursued a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, and recently completed her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership at Aurora University. She holds endorsements in English as a second language, social sciences, language arts, reading, music, speech and theatre, and administration.

Prior to joining District 33, Jamee taught preschool and kindergarten for three years in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She began her career in D33 in 2006 at Turner School where she taught 6th grade for seven years. When the new Leman Middle School opened its doors, Jamee moved to LMS where she has taught 7th grade language arts for the last five years. Jamee has also served as the Lead Teacher for the summer STEAM program for the last two summers.

During her twelve years in D33, Jamee has served on a number of committees including the Turner Rising Star team, the Building Leadership Teams at both Turner and LMS, the Academic Leadership Council, the Leman Academic Leadership Council, the Language Arts Subject Area Committee, and the LMS Master Schedule Committee. In addition, she is a Certified Kagan Cooperative Learning School Trainer.

Jamee has used her expertise in the performing arts to bring theatre to the city of West Chicago. WeGo Community Theatre - founded by Ms. Kenney in conjunction with the West Chicago Park District - just completed its ninth season of presenting quality family and youth theatre programming this past weekend. Ms. Kenney has also directed and choreographed musicals at both Turner School and LMS during her time in D33.

Ms. Kenney has dedicated her time to the children and families of West Chicago in both D33 and the West Chicago Park District for just over twelve years. She is both honored and humbled to have been chosen as the new assistant principal at Wegner School. She is excited to establish relationships with the children and families at Wegner School, and is delighted to begin working alongside the talented Wegner School staff.
