Team Eight Red

Working Together To Create A Great Learning Environment

8-RED Rocks! We welcome you to our webpage.

Our team of dedicated teachers are here to promote learning in a friendly, fun, safe environment. Leman Middle School is following the CHAMPS model to create and maintain this environment.

Student Safety

Everyone Is Important

To ensure that all students have a safe and healthy environment on Team 8-RED, the following rules are enforced:

1. Students will be in their classrooms during class periods and nowhere else.

2. Students will leave all cologne and spray or aerosol bottles at home. Any found at school will be confiscated.

3. Students will not be allowed to carry any sort of drink around the school. Any drinks found will be confiscated and thrown in the trash.

4. Students will have a lock on their lockers.

5. Students will not share lockers under any circumstance.

6. Students who are tardy to class will be subject to the consequences outlined in the Leman Middle School handbook.

Spirit Day

Every Friday is LMS School Spirit Day! Remember to wear your team/club shirts on Fridays or just any royal blue and white clothes you have. Our goal is 100% participation, so lets see those hallways a sea royal blue and white. Go Chargers!

What is AVID?

AVID is a high school course option. AVID stands for, Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID focuses on students who are “underserved,” not “underperforming.” The students in AVID typically are the first in their families to attend college, may come from
families in poverty, and lack the necessary knowledge needed to even begin applying for college. Typically these
students are average to above-average performing, who with a little support can excel in Honors and Advanced
Placement classes. This support includes note taking, test preparation, organization, and study strategies. All of this
support strongly focuses on Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading (WICOR). AVID is the only
program at our school that focuses specifically on helping these “middle-ground” students rise to the next level.
