Applicants for substitute teaching in District 33 are expected to have their
fingerprint-based criminal background checks and sex offender checks completed
through the DUPage Regional Office of Education.
THE SHORT-TERM SUB LICENSE
hold an Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
of higher education or show completion of 60 semester hours of college
for substitute teaching in all grades of the public schools, prekindergarten
through grade 12.
Substitute licenses are valid until June 30, 2023, and may not be
teach more than 5 consecutive days per licensed teacher.

The Dupage Regional Office of Education has developed a
training program that is required of the new Short-Term substitute teacher.
The next session is scheduled for Monday, August 19th, 2019 from 8:00a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We will offer additional sessions as needed.
