5th Grade Field Trip

All 5th grade students will have the opportunity to see a live Symphonic Band Concert at Edmund Chapel, Wheaton College on Thursday October 15, 2015.  This is an annual event, and the 5th graders who attended last year had an amazing experience seeing and hearing a live musical performance.  Wheaton college does a beautiful job and we are very lucky the PTO will be paying for most of our bus fees!  Thank you PTO!! Permission slips will be coming home soon.  Please dress nicely on October 15 and remember your audience etiquette so that we represent IK in the best way possible.

Music Locker
I began my music career in 1998 when I graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Since that time I have been lucky enough to teach music in wonderful places like Orland Park, Naperville and Wheaton-Warrenville and now am thrilled to teach here in West Chicago. I really enjoy making music and singing and I love children, so teaching music is the perfect job for me! I have earned a Master's Degree in Music Education from Kent State and am a member of the National Association for Music Education as well as the Greater Chicago Area Orff-Schulwerk Association. I attend monthly workshops to stay current in the field of music education and I read magazine articles and research best practice so that the students at Indian Knoll are making the most out of every music class with me.
