THE FINANCE COMMITTEE HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
The purpose of the District 33 Finance Committee is to:
- Review the district budget and financial projections and other pertinent financial documents and reports.
- Advise the board about the current and projected fiscal health of the district.
- Help communicate the financial affairs and management of the district to the community to facilitate and increase transparency.
- In addition, the Board of Education may request the committee to review and make recommendations on any financial proposals or issues that may have a significant financial impact on the district.
The committee consists of the district business manager, one or more members of the community, one or more members of the Board of Education, one or more members of the district's teachers, and other members as appropriate.
The committee meets monthly.
(Feb - March) Review 5 year Budget projections and underlying assumptions.
(March - April) Review proposed budgets and underlying assumptions for the purpose of making recommendations to the board regarding financial stability.
(March - Oct) Create a financial dashboard to convey the financial health of the district to the board and the community.
(August - September) Review Annual District Audits.
