#D33Pride Awards

The #D33Pride Awards are given to individuals/organizations who have made a significant impact on the students, staff and families of the District 33 community.  These awards provide the opportunity to honor those who have "gone above and beyond" to support and enhance the work of promoting excellence in education. Nominate someone in any of the following categories:

 

Groups/Categories 

The #D33Pride program will recognize individuals/organizations from four different categories at the end of each quarter.

Staff : Teachers, counselors, nurses psychologists, social workers and other licensed school service personnel as well as  maintenance/custodial personnel, food-service staff, paraprofessionals, administrative assistants or other support staff, superintendent, associate/assistant superintendents, principals, assistant principals, directors, coordinators, and other licensed or non-licensed staff members who function in administrative roles

Community - parents and/or volunteers 

Students

Organization

 

Criteria

Leadership: 

Problem solving abilities; works well as a team player, connects to resources; fulfills the needs of the community with programs and/or initiatives; thinks outside the box; helps staff members achieve their potential; pushes others to go beyond their comfort level 

Caring, Kindness and Enthusiasm:

Does random acts of kindness; creates enthusiasm and motivation towards goals; uses creative strategies to make learning interesting; goes out of their way to help others in need; respects and honors differences and similarities through words and actions

Dedication and Devotion:

Dependable beyond the norm; recognizes and appreciates being a partner in the educational success of each student; demonstrates a willingness to challenge self and others; deomonstrates a commitment to supporting the overall district mission; moves outside job description

 

Nomination Process

1.   Any District 33 employee, student, parent, community member, or organization may submit a nomination. Self-nominations are not accepted.

2.    Click here to complete an  online nomination form. Paper copies are available in the main offices of every District 33 buillding and can be mailed to #D33Pride Awards, West Chicago Elementary School District 33, 312 E. Forest Avenue, West Chicago, Il 60185, or emailed to Gina Steinbrecher, Community Relations Specialist, [email protected].

3.    Deadlines for 2017/2018 School Year:

a.       March 23, 2018

b.      May 11, 2018

4.    Recipients are selected by the #D33Pride Awards Committee. Both the nominator and recipients will be notified. 

 #D33Pride Committee

 This committee includes representatives from each of the following groups: Administration, Support Staff Association (SSA), Elementary Teachers Association of West Chicago (ETAWC), School Service Association (SSA – custodians) and Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).
